Easter BBQ lunch ideas

Easter morning is always active and full of joy as the kids run around the house and backyard looking for easter eggs. To make sure there is more than sugar on the menu a hearty Easter lunch is in order.

We love a good barbie so we’ve found some recipes we think you should try on your gas barbecue this Easter.

BBQ Sumac Lamb Rump

We love lamb on the BBQ at Easter, in fact it’s a popular Kiwi tradition. This beautiful lamb rump salad from Nadia Lim is perfect for cooking on the barbie and enjoying outdoors.

The sweet and sour flavours in the dressing make the grilled vegetables sing with freshness. A perfect way to serve char-grilled vegetables and get your guests coming back for more.

BBQ glazed ham

You may have tried our recipe last year for a mouth-watering glazed BBQ ham. We took a Nadia Lim classic and refined it within our team over many years – not just for Christmas, it makes a great option for Easter lunch. Play around with the flavour combinations until you find your perfect glazed BBQ ham recipe.

Grilled peach, crispy bacon and halloumi salad

This mouth-watering salad is peach perfection. Make with sweet and juicy peaches (or nectarines). Grilling brings out all their lovely fruity sweet flavours, perfectly complemented by salty bacon and haloumi.

*Plus don’t forget these great BBQ tips from Logan Brown!

Last year, you may have seen, we worked with iconic Wellington chef Logan Brown. We heard his tips and tricks on barbecuing and working with gas. Check out the blog to hear his chef secrets and a bit about his restaurant.

With these dishes, you’re spoiled for choice for some incredible Easter meals with your loved ones. Enjoy the long weekend and (try!) not to eat too much. And remember, with gas flowing well into the future you’ll be firing up the BBQ for Easter’s to come.
